The main component of silicone is silica, which is chemically stable and does not burn. Silica gel is a kind of amorphous silicon dioxide, and the dust content in the workshop should be controlled to be no more than 10 mg/m3. Air exhaust should be strengthened, and masks should be worn during operation. Silicone has strong adsorption capacity and can cause dryness to human skin. Therefore, work clothes should be worn during operation. If silicone enters the eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention as soon as possible. Blue silica gel is toxic because it contains a small amount of Cobalt(II) chloride. It should be avoided from contact with food and inhalation. In case of poisoning, a doctor should be sent immediately. Silicone has a decreased adsorption capacity due to the adsorption of water vapor or other organic substances in the medium during use, and can be reused after regeneration.
